Board of Commissioners
The Township of Cumru is a first class township governed by a Board of Commissioners who are elected at large by the qualified voters of the township. The commissioners, elected for terms of four years each, serve both legislative and executive functions. Their powers and responsibilities include:

- Maintaining a Planning Commission.

- Care of roads and bridges by Public Services
|
|
- Maintaining a Police and Fire Department
|
|
- Enacting ordinances for building, zoning, and the health, safety, and welfare of the residents, enforced by the Codes Department
|
|
- Constructing and maintaining the sewage system by the Sewer Department
|
Meetings held 3rd Tuesday of each month and the 5th Tuesdays, when applicable, at 7:00 PM.
